Tulsa OB-GYN Associates, Inc. is pleased
to announce the recent addition of Rebecca Deaton, M.D. Dr. Deaton has been a practicing
Obstetrician and Gynecologist for nearly 25 years. She
remembers her first gynecological exam as a scared young college
student. She wished she had had the option of choosing a
female physician for that exam. At the time, women in medicine
were rare. Dr. Deaton wanted to be a part of changing that aspect
of medicine and make women’s health care her life-long work.
Dr. Deaton
graduated from Ada High School in Ada, OK, earned a bachelors degree
in Physiology from Oklahoma State University, completed medical
school at the University of Oklahoma, and fulfilled her residency
through the University of Oklahoma at Tulsa. Dr. Deaton is a
member of the Tulsa County Medical Society, the Oklahoma State
Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the American |
College
of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the International Society for
the Study of Women’s Sexual Health. She is board certified in
Obstetrics and Gynecology.
The day-to-day interaction with
patients is what Dr. Deaton enjoys most about her work. She
genuinely takes pleasure in listening to patient concerns, and
offering timely assistance to improve her patients’ overall health.
Dr. Deaton’s expertise in issues surrounding hormone replacement and
female sexuality is a valuable contribution that she brings to Tulsa
OB/GYN. Along with all of her associates, Dr. Deaton is
committed to educating younger women on sexually transmitted
diseases and the various contraceptive options available to them.
On a personal
level, Rebecca is an avid reader. She is passionate about
reading wonderful contemporary and classic literature. She
also loves to cook, entertain and take her dog—a Westie named
Finian—for walks around the neighborhood. Rebecca is most
proud of her daughter, Clea, who lives in New York and is attending
graduate school at NYU. Trips to New York are a highlight of
her year.
